Schools (pre-school to college) – The public school system is jointly operated by the city of Williamsburg and James City County. The school system consists of 15 schools – 9 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 3 high schools. The two established high schools are Lafayette and Jamestown and are considered above average institutions.
